My Bio

Tia Harrell-Ramey is a communications expert, educator, and advocate for families and communities. As the President of RM Communications, she has spent more than a decade helping small businesses and nonprofits across the nation develop effective outreach and digital strategies, with a focus on empowering minority-owned enterprises and local initiatives.

Tia also previously served in Governor Mike DeWine’s administration as Deputy Director of the Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives, where she supported nonprofits in building capacity and expanding resources for families.

An accomplished educator, Tia has taught digital marketing, self-branding, and social media strategy at the Columbus College of Art & Design and The Ohio State University’s John Glenn College of Public Affairs. She also develops youth programs on entrepreneurship and responsible digital engagement, equipping students to connect academics with real-world opportunities.

Tia’s impact has been recognized with multiple honors, including the Modern Woodmen Hometown Hero Award, the Maverick Award for Civic Engagement, and, most recently, as a 2025 Columbus Business First 40 Under 40 honoree. A TEDx speaker and author of Canceled: Mastering Difficult Conversations in a Modern World, Tia is dedicated to shaping a more inclusive and empowered future.

Now running for the Reynoldsburg City School Board, her mission is clear: to listen, collaborate, and lead—because Leaders Today create Stars Tomorrow.
